Usability: How Users Can Help Us Assess It - a step-by-step framework for determining and optimising the usability of IT systems, based on the guidance in a Draft International Standard (2,300 words, plus 1,700 words in annexes). 1994. 

Learning Climate and the Learning Organisation - a short outline of the concepts of organisational learning, including how it can be recognised and encouraged (1,700 words, including annexes) 

Practising Participative Design in a Medium-sized Organisation - paper presented to HCI '93 Conference, Loughborough, 8-10 September (1,400 words) 

Organisational Change, Analysis and Consultancy: Issues for Computer-Supported Cooperative Work - paper presented by invitation at Universities of Lancaster, Surrey, and Manchester during 1993. This is a fairly long and academic paper, and is likely to be of interest mainly to researchers. (8,800 words, including references) 

Hitting the Right Note: Interacting with Music through Computers - article for Interfaces newsletter, based on research for the National Centre for Popular Music. 1997. 

Skills in Information Communications Technology & the Internet:  A Training Needs Survey - As part of the Living IT Programme, we conducted an online survey and this report summarises and discusses the data that was gathered. Re-engineering the Lifelong Learning Infrastructure: Learning Clusters and their Potential Role in Regional Ufi Implementation The term "learning clusters" refers to communities of learners who share similar interests in learning, are able to learn from each others' experiences, and who are influenced by each others' opinions about the positive value of learning. DJA hosted and facilitated three email and web-based forums for this project, for individual and business-based learners across a range of contexts.
